MDF Program

The Marketing Development Funds (MDF) from Universal Robots allows our partners to invest in growing their lead generation capacity. It also allows Universal Robots to support partners in clearly defined marketing activities. With this partnership, we are able to generate even more leads and opportunities as one team. The MDF program is not intended to fund baseline marketing investments typically made by a successful partner. The MDF program is reserved for partners fully engaged with UR: Distributors, CSI, CSP, OEM and UR+ partners.

What activities are supported by the MDF Program?

• Exhibitions that align with UR’s core standard product and applications strategy (targeted segment or application: welding, palletizing, machine tending, etc.)

• Roadshows, conferences, open houses and technical seminars targeted at new customer decision-makers

• Webinar or outbound digital campaigns with a clear, measurable call to action

What tactical activities are not supported in the MDF Program?

• Print advertising

• Broad digital advertising without a clear, measurable call to action

• Graphics and signage for offices, labs, and vehicles

• Branded trinkets and swag

• Travel, transportation, living, and lodging expenses

• Association memberships or participation fees for events, trade shows, conferences, or workshops

• Beer-n-Bots and other social events featuring multiple products & targeted at existing customers

• Printing/purchase of UR-sourced or branded literature

What do you need to do to get your activity funded?

Agree with UR on the lead target and once the activity is completed provide all leads to UR (contact, MQL) including qualitative information about the customer and potential automation projects.

What is an MQL?

A Marketing Qualified Lead (MQL) is a potential customer that satisfies the criteria necessary to be passed along to the UR sales/partner team. (Does it meet BANT?)

When should MDF requests be submitted by the partner?

All requests should be submitted no later than 60 days prior to the activity date.

What should I expect after submitting the form?

A UR marketing representative will contact you to evaluate the proposal: activity details, expected number of leads, financial support, promotion plan, etc.

When should we share leads with UR?

Leads must be shared with a UR sales or marketing representative within 48 hours after the activity date.
