Universal Robots reports second quarter results

ODENSE, DENMARK: Universal Robots, the Danish producer of collaborative robots (cobots), has reported Q2 revenue of USD 58m, down 30% on its 2022 Q2 revenue.

Commercial shipping of new UR20 cobots

“We have seen global industrial activity slow this quarter and that is reflected in our results,” said Chief Financial Officer, Kim Nørgaard Andreasen. “Nevertheless, we see improvement in the second half as we convert a strong backlog of orders for our new UR20 products, combined with the launch of our new software platform which has been specifically designed to provide value for our key target segments.”

Gearing up for growth: Commercial shipping of new UR20 cobots

In the third quarter, Universal Robots will ramp up shipment of its newest cobot, the UR20. The UR20 is the first addition to a brand-new state of the art cobot platform. It has the longest reach and heaviest payload of the company’s product range and is expected to be used extensively to automate palletizing and welding tasks. “Order intake for the newest cobot remains strong and we have been busy stepping up production to meet demand,” explained Andreasen.
