To maintain our ability to support customers with products in the current electronics industry-wide situation, Universal Robots has made needed updates to our electronics platforms. Universal Robots is introducing an alternative microcontroller chip in the standard Teach Pendant (TP) of e-Series robots.

To ensure certification and quality with the updates made, all the e-Series robots that have updated microcontroller in standard TP must run with Polyscope version 5.11.10 or newer.

Spare part number 124091 is now obsolete and will again be released on spare part number 200027

Overview

• e-Series robots that have updated microcontroller in standard TP will only work with Polyscope 5.11.10 or newer.
• If a user installs a version of Polyscope older than 5.11.10 on the robot that have updated microcontroller in standard TP, they will get an error and the robot will not run. The error can be resolved by installing Polyscope 5.11.10 or newer.
• Polyscope software version 5.11.10 supports both the old and new standard TPs.
• Universal Robots recommends that all users keep their robots up-to-date with the latest version of Polyscope. Universal Robots implements bug fixes and other improvements with every Polyscope release and does extensive testing to ensure that programs written in previous versions of Polyscope will run on the latest version. If a user experiences any issues after updating software or hardware on a UR robot, they should contact their distributor or open a case in MyUR.
• For customers who wish to run Polyscope versions older than 5.11.10, Universal Robots will do our best in supporting the transition. Consult your regional service center for further details.
• Spare part number 124091 is now obsolete and will again be released on spare part number 200027

Effective date

The new microcontroller is introduced on all standard TPs manufactured from 3^rd May 2022.

New spare part teach pendant will be available from 1^st July 2022
