Product Technical Bulletin: Updated e-Series Cleanroom Class Results
In this note you will find information about updated the e-Series Cleanroom Class
Date: 06.11.2023
Product(s) Affected: All E-series robots.
Summary: Please be aware of the following changes to our e-series
Overview:
We have changed our test house to verify our e-Series cleanroom classification from TÜV to Fraunhofer. This will impact the way we in the future address cleanroom class in our technical documentation.
Details:
In connection with switching from TÜV SÜD to Fraunhofer for purposes of cleanroom testing, we have updated the related testing criteria.
Now, cleanroom classification testing is based on 80% payload and 80% speed.
Test results at 20% and 40% are also provided to enable customers to make more informed decisions for their applications. Testing and certification to ISO 14644-1 was recently done by Fraunhofer.
Here are the Fraunhofer test results at 20%, 40% and 80%:
Robot model | 20% Air cleanliness Class | 40% Air cleanliness Class | 80% Air cleanliness Class | Overall for model |
UR3e | 6 | 7 | 7 | 7 |
UR5e | 4 | 5 | 5 | 5 |
UR10e | 5 | 5 | 6 | 6 |
UR16e | 5 | 5 | 6 | 6 |
Consequently, our datasheet for our e-series robots is being updated. e-Series robots bought based on the previous cleanroom testing are not impacted by this change as the associated test report continues to be available upon request.
The Fraunhofer results will be effective as of November 6, 2023.
Please be aware that our products are unchanged, it is the test criteria that have changed.
Dates and Changes Labels:
The estimated implementation and completion date is anticipated to be February 2024,
when updated documentation and labeling will take effect.
