Missing Tool Flange
In this article you can find instructions for how to solve the installation issue regarding missing tool flange when updating to 5.14 SW version.
Created: October, 27th 2023.
Refers to: e-Series SW 5.14.0 and higher
In PolyScope 5.13 and below, a bug allowed the user to change the name and position of the default "Tool Flange" in the Safety Settings, if the system language was any other than English. As the safety system must always be able to monitor the Tool Flange, this bug has been fixed in PolyScope 5.14.
If an Installation is loaded where the default Tool Flange is missing, an error will occur, and the Installation will not be loaded.
Please see below steps on how to remedy this.
Note: Be aware that the safety checksum will change with the changes to the Installation.
Procedure
- Downgrade the robot to Polyscope Software 5.13.1 (You can find instructions on how to do so in paragraph 5.1 of the Service Manual).
- Open the affected .installation file
- Go to the "Installation" tab
- Go to "Safety" dropdown menu
- Go to "Tool Position" option
- Insert your safety password to unlock the installation editor
- Click on "Add Tool"
- Click on the button to edit the tool name
- Change the name to "Tool Flange" without quotes and press "submit"
- Make sure that all the values in the tool flange are zero
- Click on "Apply and Restart"
- Click on "Confirm SafetyConfiguration"
- Update Polyscope software to 5.14.0 or higher.
