The 20kg Tool Flange Adapter was developed to ease the initial use of the UR20 as UR+ partners did not yet have end-effectors (tools) that could be directly attached to the UR20. To make optimal use of your UR20 robots, use end-effectors (tooling) that mounts directly to the UR20 tool output flange without any adapters.

Although both UR20 and UR30 have the same tool output mounting flange, the 20kg Tool Flange Adapter is for use ONLY with the UR20.

This Tool Flange Adapter has a maximum payload capacity of 20kg over its life when used in a UR20 application. The adapter shall not be used in any UR30 applications. WARNING

Serious injury can result from use of the 20kg Tool Flange Adapter with UR30 and if the payload is above 20kg. Overloading can cause the end-effector (tooling) and workpiece to break loose while the robot is moving.

The 20kg Tool Flange Adapter can be used until end-effectors (tooling) are available that mount directly to the UR20 tool output flange.

A warning label stating the 20kg specification is available to affix to the outside edge of the Tool Flange Adapter. This label and instructions will be provided to all UR20 customers.
