Let's connect electrical equipment to the robot through the M8 tool connector.
The Tool Connector, located at the end of the robot arm on the tool flange, provides various interfaces for connecting end effectors and tooling.
The Tool Connector will most often be used with a ready-made end effector from UR+ where power and communication will often be transferred in 1 cable. However, the tool connector interface can be adjusted to many different needs.
As of September 1, 2024, the M8 connecter on all e-Series robots changed from a male version to a female version. The tool cap was also face lifted to fit with the female version. The table below includes the serial numbers of the first robots to be produced with the female connector. If your robot serial number precedes those found in the table, please refer to the M8 male tool connector tab. If your robot serial number succeeds those found in the table below, please refer to the M8 female tool connector tab. If the robot type is not listed in the table, please refer to the M8 female tool connector tab.
