Declaration of Incorporation - e-Series
EU Declaration of Incorporation (DOI) (in accordance with 2006/42/EC Annex II B)
A Declaration of Conformity is issued by a manufacturer when a product or completed machine complies with all applicable European Directives and UK Directives. Upon complying with all applicable directives, the manufacturer may affix the CE mark to their product or machine.
Robots are “incomplete machines” according to the Machinery Directive. Robots are not eligible for CE marking because a Declaration of Conformity can only be provided for a “complete machine”. A complete robot system includes an end-effector and expected workpieces – basically a robot application with an intended use, not simply the robot
For incomplete machines, a Declaration of Incorporation is required.
The UR Declaration of Incorporation (DOI) is included in our user manuals.
Our DOI states that there are three applicable directives: Machinery, Low Voltage and Electromagnetic Compatibility. Our robots are in conformity with these directives to the extent possible for an incomplete machine.
The integrated robot application is evaluated for conformity to all applicable directives and if this completed “robot system” complies, then the integrator is permitted to issue a Declaration of Conformity and affix the CE marking to the completed machine.
