Summary:

The purpose of this message is to provide advanced notification of an upcoming product update.  Universal Robots is introducing minor updates to the mechanical dimensions of the control box cabinet to create a common cabinet between the e-Series and CB3 generation of robots.  Updated technical files, including detailed reference drawings and new 3D models (.stp) files, are available on the support website under mechanical documentation.

Overview:

• CB3 and e-Series control boxes will use the same common control box metal cabinet
• Only some mechanical dimensions of the cabinet have been updated, please refer to Table 1 for details.
• The functional contents and performance of the control box (electrical systems, connectors, PCB, I/O, etc.) for each the respective generation of control box will be unchanged. 
• The teach pendants for each generation are unchanged
• All robot system product certifications are unchanged and applicable to the updated cabinet.
• The dimensional updates for e-Series is minimal.  CB3 includes updates to the fan placement, new feet, cable port locations, and small changes to the expansion bay openings
• It is recommended that all customer check and verify their existing and new integration space requirements to the updated reference drawings and 3D models

Effective Date:   These updated control boxes will start shipping in late June 2019
