Transforming Manufacturing with Future of Automation
SIMATIC Robot Pick AI enables Universal Cobots to autonomously pick any “unknown” or unpredictable item utilizing suction gripper and replaced CAD-model based approaches. It runs on standard SIMATIC IPCs and provides a superior integration in the SIMATIC automation ecosystem. In the Siemens training camp, the pre-trained algorithm has been taught to reliably pick any item, providing an out-of-the-box, ready-to-use solution. The deep learning algorithm analyzes a 3D image of the given situation in milliseconds to identify the most reliable picking poses for the items presented and provides them to any robotic system with a suction gripper. This capability acts as the robot’s brain, providing the missing piece of the puzzle to enable automated bin-to-bin applications in a wide variety of cases.
